Your pet’s behaviour concerns can feel overwhelming, but you don’t have to navigate them alone. We take the time to understand your pet’s history, environment, and behavioural patterns so we can provide a clear, evidence‑based treatment plan. Whether you’re seeing our behaviour veterinarians or qualified behaviour modification trainer, you’ll know exactly what to expect at every step.

What to Expect at Your Veterinary Behaviour Consultation
Initial Consultation with Behaviour Veterinarian (2.5-hours)
At this appointment, one of our qualified behaviour veterinarians will discuss your pet’s medical and behavioural history, mental health assessment, and diagnosis. A treatment plan will be provided which typically involves training, management, and behavioural medication if appropriate.
Some follow up support is available for the first couple of months before a revisit appointment is recommended to review progress and build on the treatment plan.
We often recommend session/s with our behaviour modification trainer alongside seeing a vet which can be organised in your home, at our clinic, or online. Together you will review management strategies and behaviour modification training to help your pet’s behaviour problem using evidence-based, force-free training methods.
What to Expect from your Behaviour Training Consultation
Initial Consultation with Behaviour Trainer (90-minutes)
At this appointment, our qualified behaviour modification trainer will discuss your pet’s behaviour with you. A treatment plan will be provided which typically involves environmental management strategies and the beginnings of a behaviour modification program using evidence-based, force-free training methods.
We will make plan for follow up training session/s to review progress and build on your treatment plan which can be organised in your home, at our clinic, or online. Continued behaviour modification training may be recommended.
Depending on the initial assessment and/or your pet’s progress, a subsequent review with one of our behaviour veterinarians may be recommended.
